Rebuild After Betrayal is a structured thirteen-session affair recovery program designed for couples in the months after an affair has been disclosed. Built on Emotionally Focused Therapy and evidence-based infidelity recovery research, the program moves couples through three clinical phases — stabilizing the immediate fallout, understanding what made the relationship vulnerable to infidelity, and rebuilding attachment and trust through the honest disclosure conversations that weekly couples therapy too often avoids.
The program is for couples who have chosen to stay and now have to figure out what happens next. It is not for couples still deciding whether to separate — those couples are better served by the Stay or Go discernment counseling program. Rebuild After Betrayal is for partners who have both committed to the process of repair and are ready to do structured, evidence-based work with a specialist.
The program includes one joint couple intake session, one individual intake session with each partner, and ten structured working sessions. Delivered in-person in Golden, Colorado, just off I-70, or via secure telehealth anywhere in Colorado. Dr. John O'Malley, PhD, LPC, NCC, trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy under internationally certified supervisors and has practiced with couples in the Colorado foothills for more than fifteen years.
